Diabetes Hands Foundation has three main groups of volunteers: TuDiabetes Volunteers, EsTuDiabetes Volunteers, and DHF interns.

If you are a member of one of our online communities and would like to get more involved you can help us by creating content and helping us highlight important discussions, blogs, pictures, etc.

If you live in the Bay Area and are interested in social media management, research, fundraising, and program development then you can apply to be an intern at DHF. Internships require at least a 3-month commitment and the ability to come to the Berkeley office every week.

Contract Agreement

As a volunteer, you are a very important member of our team and act as a representative of the Diabetes Hands Foundation (DHF) at large. DHF will provide for you with: the opportunity to make a visible impact in the community and the lives of others touched by diabetes; opportunities for professional development and social interaction with other volunteers and members; documentation and training on the duties involved in helping as a volunteer; access to the tools and adequate permission levels to carry on the duties; and an opportunity to learn about how DHF operates. Diabetes Hands Foundation asks that you: read through any documentation and training materials you receive and ask any questions you may have about them or the duties involved in being a Volunteer; ask a more experienced Volunteer or one of the Staff members if you have any questions at any point about the steps to take when faced with an unforeseen situation; notify the team beforehand if you will be absent or if you have arranged a substitute; understand the responsibility involved in having access to the tools you will be using during your work as a volunteer; maintain all private information you are exposed to as a volunteer anonymous and confidential; conduct yourself in manner consistent with the values of the Diabetes Hands Foundation at all times.
