What Do We Do?

Diabetes Hands Foundation believes that the power to spark lasting change in our own lives and the lives of others is in our own hands. Every day we rally the diabetes community by encouraging respectful and open exchange around the thoughts and realities of our lives, and the fresh ideas to improve them because we want to connect and energize the 366 million people living with this condition.

Rather than looking at the disease, Diabetes Hands Foundation seeks to understand the people living with diabetes and gives them the outlets to share ideas and experiences.

Our Awareness Initiatives

These programs involve the participation of community members on the generation of diabetes awareness materials. Each program revolves around a specific theme and works as an interactive conduit that connects individuals through self-expression and creativity. As a result, the community participates in the generation of useful and real content, which in turn, strengthens the community through the participation and empowerment of its members.

Our Online Communities

Both communities offer a culturally sensitive experience to their members (people with diabetes as well as their loved ones), helping them connect with others they can relate to. Our members can message each other or participate in discussions with the rest of the community. They can share videos, photos and blog about their lives with diabetes. Members can start their own groups or join existent interest groups. Members can track, share and compare their diabetes data, using the TuAnalyze and EsTuAnálisis applications, developed in collaboration with Children’s Hospital Boston.
